Watch the 1989 Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-9 Record) defeat the prohibitive favorite Edmonton Eskimos (16-2) on their own hometown Commonwealth Stadium turf. The 1989 Eskimos still hold the enduring CFL regular season win record (!) But the overconfident bunch were no match for the Cardiac Kid Riders who pulled off quite possibly the biggest upset in CFL history... but the Riders knew all along they were going to be a bigger challenge than the Eskimos ever gave them credit for.... Whoops! The play that turned this game all around was "The Hit" - a blindside hit by Eddie Lowe on stunned Eskimo quarterback Tracy Ham... when the ball popped loose, Dave Albright was in perfect position to scoop it up and once future CFL commissionaire Randy Ambrose made a whoosh of an attempt to tackle him, there was nothing between Albright and paydirt... Suddenly instead of 10-3 Eskimos it was 10-All, with all the momentum swinging to the Rider side. Watch this play all unfold at the 32:58 mark!
