A Tour of the Pikmin Terrace in Miyajima SA! (Hiroshima)【Pikmin Bloom】

July 12th 2024 UPDATE: Niantic has just announced that they are extending the length of time that the Pikmin Terrace will remain open (and subsequently, the time you can unlock the Spot Challenge). It will now remain open until mid-September 2025 (an extension of over a year since it was originally planned to be closed August 31st of this year!) The Terrace itself will be closed from September 1st 2024 to October 10th 2024 for maintenance. The Spot Challenge will still be unlockable during that time, but you won’t be able to enjoy every thing else the Terrace offers so plan your trip accordingly! I (Johnny) first came to Japan about 10 years ago for a short vacation. I bought the 7-day Shinkansen train pass and hit just about every major city from Fukuoka to Sapporo. But there was one major city I had always wanted to visit, mainly for its historical significance, and that's Hiroshima. Since it branched off from the main Shinkansen line, it was a bit more difficult to reach and I didn't have time to go there back then. Ever since I returned to Japan, it continued to be on the list of places to see before going back home. Pikmin Tour or not, I was definitely going to visit. But I decided to wait and see if Pikmin would end up bringing me there before going on a completely separate trip. They did, the wait was worth it! The Pikmin Terrace in Miyajima Service Area (Hiroshima) first opened on December 13th, 2023 and runs until August 31st, 2024. It's a small Pikmin zone with three dioramas with a built in quiz game, a Pikmin popup store with exclusive merch, and a few other things. A cool experience on its own, but we decided to wait and see if there would be a Pikmin Bloom Tour nearby before making a journey just for the Pikmin Terrace since it runs until August. Suddenly, Niantic delivered with the announcement of the Fukuoka Tour. We decided to stop by Hiroshima and the Terrace on the way to the tour. Between Miyajima, Itsukushima Island, the Pikmin Terrace, and Hiroshima City, absolutely nothing disappointed! It was such a great part of Japan we're already planning to come back one day to see even more stuff we didn't get the chance to this time! It's a long video, but there was a lot more to cover at the Terrace than we were expecting, and we wanted to showcase beautiful Hiroshima too.
