Armored Core 6 is in a lot of ways both a departure and celebration of its roots. Some of the changes it presents are very radical, creating a sort of divide between the fanbase - quite understandably so. However, I think From Software did what needed to be done in order to streamline and broaden the reach and appeal of the series. Now that a huge influx of new Ravens has become aware of Armored Core and its intricacies, I believe some of the removed complexity might slowly find its way back into the game or future expansions/sequels. Nonetheless, the game holds amazingly well in its own right, despite definitely not being a perfect AC game. It is exactly what it needed to be.
