Kia has fully revealed its first-ever pickup truck, the Tasman, for the global markets and it will be pitched against Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara, Volkswagen Amarok, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, etc. The midsize pickup boasts a versatile exterior with good off-road capabilities and practicality according to the brand. The Kia Tasman is also packed with features and customers will get a high degree of customisation going along with it. Set to be introduced next year, it will be sold in multiple powertrain choices including a 2.5L petrol mill generating 281 PS and 421 Nm and a 2.2L turbo diesel engine producing 210 PS maximum power and 441 Nm of torque. Both will be paired with an eight-speed AT while the diesel gets a six-speed manual transmission option too. Only the base variant can be bought with a 2WD configuration as others come with a 4WD layout. The Tasman features selectable terrain modes such as Snow, Mud, Rock, and Sand while the tough X-Pro trim includes an Electronic Locking Differential (e-LD) and an X-Trek mode to handle extreme off-road conditions.
