#philippines #pinatubo #gopromax Located approximately 87 km northwest of Manila, the capital of Philippines, the eruption of Mount Pinatubo on 15 June 1991 had significant effects across the world, many of which were felt years later. It released roughly 10 billion tonnes of magma, and 20 million tonnes of SO2, bringing large amounts of minerals and toxic metals to the surface. It ejected more particulate into the stratosphere than any eruption since Krakatoa in 1883. In the following months, aerosols formed a global layer of sulfuric acid haze. Global temperatures dropped by about 0.5 °C in the years 1991–1993, and ozone depletion temporarily increased significantly. This video documents the walking trail to Mount Pinatubo. The walk takes us over slippery rocks strewn across flowing streams. And slowly the scarred landscape tranforms into lush tropical rainforest. This video is part 2 of a 3 part video.
