34046 “Braunton” hauling “The Golden Arrow” on its first railtour of 2023! | 04/03/23

Here we see 34046 “Braunton” along with 90001 “Royal Scot” and 47810 “Crewe Diesel Depot” hauling “The Golden Arrow” around Kent on its first mainline railtour of 2023! Unfortunately there were many late changes to my plan for this railtour due to missing a connecting train meaning I could no longer see 45699 “Galatea” on “The Chesireman” at Harrow & Wealdstone! There was also a slight change to the plan at Paddock Wood after realising that the tour departing late meant I wasn’t going to make it to Tonbridge to see it pass through at speed, making me wish I’d gone to Headcorn instead of Paddock Wood! Missed Whistles: 1 @ Lenham 4 @ Canterbury West 4 @ Paddock Wood Total: 9 At first, we see 90001 with 47810 on the rear taking the railtour to Acton Lane Reception Sidings passing through Harrow & Wealdstone at speed with a lovely 2 tone! Here 90001 would remove itself for the service, being replaced by 34046 before the tour made its way down to Kent. Next, we make our way to Lenham, Kent where the service pulled up in the passenger loop for approximately half an hour before giving a whistle on departure towards Canterbury working 1Z12! We then catch up with the railtour at Canterbury West where it has already arrived and 34046 is preparing to uncouple and make its way to the shunt sidings where it was to refill with water and coal in preparation for the return to Birmingham. The tour then left Canterbury on time despite late arrival with multiple whistles and plenty of steam working 1Z17! Finally, we see the tour arrive into Paddock Wood which is where I said goodbye to 34046 “Braunton” for the last time. Amazing steam locomotive and first time seeing her! During its time at Paddock Wood, it give 4 whistles with three stunning and long ones, none of which I caught on camera. It then departed on its way to Birmingham with a whistle! Enjoy! Times in the video: 0:06 - Harrow & Wealdstone 0:38 - Wembley Yard 1:16 - Lenham 7:24 - Canterbury West arrival 8:35 - Shunt Sidings 20:38 - Canterbury West departure 28:48 - Paddock Wood
