WARNING! Have a box of Kleenex handy before watching this video. This is a tribute to the tragic romance of Danny Dallas & his doomed bride Elaine Lefkowitz from the classic 70's sitcom Soap. Done to Leann Rimes' How Do I Live. Although it was short lived, the caliber of their romance was equivalent to such great TV loves as Ricky & Lucy, Ralph & Alice, Sam & Diane, or Homer & Marge. Yes that's Dinah Manoff as Elaine and Richard Mulligan as Danny's Step Father. They would later play Father and Daughter on Empty Nest. No copyright infringement intended. BACKSTORY: Danny Dallas was a low level gangster who had a hit placed on him when he left the mob without proper authorization. When Elaine, the obnoxious daughter of a high ranking mobster, becomes smitten with Danny, she intercedes to save his life, but then demands that Danny be forced to marry her. Although Danny can't stand Elaine, he reluctantly agrees, figuring at least this way he'll be alive and married into a wealthy family. On their wedding day, Elaine's father announces that now that she has Danny to take care of her, he has fulfilled his promise to his dead wife so is now cutting Elaine off without a cent and hopes to never see her again because she is a "disgusting person". So she and Danny are forced to move in with Danny's parents. Eventually Danny's family brings out the good in Elaine and he falls madly in love with her.
