Audio Poem 'Just Imagine'. Words, music and film by Erwin Steijlen "Your mind creates reality Just imagine..." Written for a performance I did with Federico Faggin. Thanks so much for inspiring me with knowledge and lifechanging ideas. Some birds have a little piece of earth Built inside of them It's part of who they are A tiny magnetizing rock, a GPS, like in a car So they can always find their way back home Even from afar from unimaginable distances they follow an invisible connection and they just know, were they come from and where to go Imagine we could be as birds Listening to our inner voice and go wherever nature takes us Never asking why Sometimes we have to believe before we can see Just imagine and fly When we improvise we choose what we feel is right do we not? That inner voice is nature speaking words to us That urge, that great feeling of hope and connection of oneness and belonging we all so desperately search And now the time has come Let your mind guide you into a new direction ‘Cause the world needs this new connection And just like the birds We can use our built-in system to lead and teach each other how to get home We will find answers only by living, by suffering, by risking, by giving By losing, by learning And by believing in something we call our selves ‘Cause the mind knows things it does not know it knows. So where should I go? Or should I just let go? 'Imagine' Imagine a world of possibilities Of infinite choices in an infinite universe Inside your mind Imagine being a child, again Can you remember who you were before the world told you who to be? Can you still play? Can you be totally honest with me? Imagine all the people Let your mind remember the future Sharing all the world… You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one Like in an old dream experienced by thousands before you in the night, through all of time Imagine A world without words, without explanation. Just by dreaming the dream we would be like birds and fly Fly high up in the sky Free as a bird, free as a child Imagine Because wé decide what reality is In our minds Sometimes you have to believe before you can see Just imagine
