The following tips can help you snag a campsite at these highly coveted locations. 1. Book early. Most national parks open up their reservations 6 months in advance. When you’re browsing sites to book, be ready to reserve and pay before the site you want gets reserved. 2. Browse cancellations. If you weren’t able to reserve your site early, don’t panic. Campsite cancellations happen all the time, and you can snag one of these spots if you stay on top of monitoring openings. There are several websites out there that track campsite cancellations; use them to find a spot at your desired campground. 3. Be flexible. With a little flexibility in your planning, you may be able to book a campsite close to the dates you’d originally targeted.
