Jim is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion who shares how the sexual abuse he experienced as a child drove him to throw himself into any sport possible that could result in him being hurt. He also talks about his mental health and how a chance suggestion from a friend, led him to learning as an adult that he had been living with undiagnosed OCD since childhood. STIGMA Stories is a series created from a 3-day Mental Health Story-Sharing Pop Up hosted in Chicago in June of 2021. We are trying to normalize conversations about mental illness to help reduce stigma and loneliness, and this winter we will be launching a mental health app that connects people who are struggling with people who share their lived experience.
