Madame Delphine LaLaurie was seen in American Horror Story played by Kathy Bates and her story is true. She was a serial killer in the 19th century, praying on her slaves and doing unspeakable acts to them. Delphine LaLaurie (1787-1849) was a New Orleans' socialite. She came from a respected French family. She was married three times and it was with her third husband Dr. Leonard Louis Nicolas LaLaurie that she began to experiment on her slaves. Whether he had a hand in it or not, we don't know but it was on the night that her house caught fire, that officers found slaves tied up in her attic with mutilations. They were brought to the city hall for the public to see and LaLaurie was driven away, never to be seen again. Some say she changed her name and stayed in New Orleans, others say she went to France. Today she is remembered by her portrayal by Kathy Bates in American Horror story and her mansion is available to be visited today in New Orleans.
