In this video, we make red wine using ONLY ingredients and tools that you can buy at Walmart. This was a fun experiment that ended with.... well, watch the video! Watch this to learn how to make "champagne" from Walmart ingredients: • Recipe: Make "Champagne" on a Walmart... Our costs for this project: 1 Gallon Juice - $5.96 1 Gallon Distilled Water: $2.38 Yeast - $0.64 ($1.88 for 3) Balloon - $0.03 ($1.00 for 30) Dawn Anti-bacterial Soap - $0.03 ($2.94 for about 100 uses) Plastic Beverage Dispenser: $5.00 (can be reused over and over) So the total outlay was $19.16, but the actual cost to make the 1 gallon batch was $9.04, which comes out to about $2.00 a 750ml bottle ("Two-Buck Sam" ;p)! This wine is a grape wine made from the concord grape (via juice), and is a medium bodied red wine that is generally fruity and has a silky finish. It has a distinct grape jelly aroma and has notes of candied strawberry. Some say it has primary flavors of grape, plum sauce, musk, potting soil, and cumin. If all the sugar ferments into alcohol (and it should if you follow the recipe) this will be a dry wine that is actually quite tasty and comparable to a store-bought wine in our opinion. Seriously, we were very surprised how good it tasted under the circumstances. If all the alcohol doesn't ferment all the way, it will have a certain level of sweetness. If you want that sweetness and it does go dry, you can add sugar back in. If you do this, you'll want to use non-fermentable sugar such as Allulose, or just make sure you keep it chilled so that it doesn't start to ferment again later when it warms up. :) Please only drink alcohol if you're of legal age, and never drink and drive! - - Contents of this video - - - 00:00 - Intro 03:00 - Prepare the Yeast 04:10 - Add Some Juice 04:38 - Add the Sugar 05:04 - Shake it Up!
