348 Challenge - A Street-Legal Ferrari Race Car!

Created to compete in the inaugural single-make Ferrari racing series, the 348 Challenge model featured a revised Ansa exhaust system to unlock more power, uprated brakes, and was fitted with a full roll cage, OMP carbon-Kevlar seats, and racing safety kit. While the car was never designed to be a road car, and indeed the Challenge series continues with the 488 model, this lightweight 348 racer nonetheless set the template for finely honed Ferraris that were more capable on the track; and can therefore be considered a forefather to the likes of the 360 Challenge Stradale and 488 Pista. It is perhaps unsurprising then that some examples of the 348 Challenge, like the one now offered on Collecting Cars, have since been converted to road-legal status. This particular example is finished in the famous Ferrari hue of Rosso Corsa, and rides on the familiar 18-inch five-spoke Speedline alloy wheels finished in white. First registered in Japan in August 1992, this 348 TB Challenge was imported into the UK and later re-registered with the DVLA in September 2019 to the current owner. It is fresh from a service with Ferrari specialist AV Engineering in August 2021, and had the major cam belt replacement service carried out in 2019. With a recently repainted front end, this car is now a very well-presented example, which is also eligible to compete in a number of classic motorsport events.
