Drill bits to make wooden balls? NO

I was all excited wanting to try these drill bits to make wooden balls with the drill press. I had seen videos where people used them, and the result was not good at all, but I thought I could make them work well. And I think I got a pretty decent result, but honestly, the result is a wooden ball that needs a lot of sanding, and it's not an easy piece to sand at all. Clearly, if we need wooden balls for any project, it's best to buy them. Things to consider: When using the large bit, we see how the piece of wood slips and the chuck ends up coming loose. The problem with this large bit is that as soon as the ball came loose, I realized that both my hands were occupied, and if I raised the bit, it would hit the edges of the hole and could chip the wood. When the ball came loose, it was held by the guide bit and rotated with it, causing the bit-ball set to wobble, something I hadn't considered. That's why I decided to let go of the wood with the bit spinning inside and use that free hand to immediately turn off the drill. Clearly, whether it's the bit for making large balls or the smaller one, it's necessary to clamp the wood with some clamps to have a free hand to turn off the column drill if needed. Drilling a preliminary hole, I think, helps guide the guide bit and achieve a better result. At the beginning of each drill, we see that I let go of the wood with the guide bit inside the hole. Always with the large part of the bit well separated from the wood. I do this so that the guide bit adjusts the position of the wood, and thus the hole and the guide bit are better aligned. Although I don't think I was able to reposition the large piece of wood at all. Now, in the video, I use a very precise professional column drill, and even so, we see that the balls do not come out perfect. I'm sure that with a lower quality column drill, the result would be much worse. Definitely using drill bits to make wooden balls is not worth it, as making them round and smooth would take a lot of time and effort. They can be bought online at a very good price.
