A little medley from the Braveheart soundtrack featuring music from the cues, "The Legend Spreads" and "Main Title". When I recorded Braveheart at Abbey Road Studios in March 1995, composer James Horner asked me to write a couple of jigs for two different spots as a countermelody to play over the orchestra as they performed the main theme. I composed the jig for "The Legend Spreads" in the bathroom of my London hotel so I wouldn't disturb the other hotel guests and this ended up being the last piece of music we recorded on the last night of recording. Thank goodness Mel Gibson and James Horner loved it so we could wrap and go off to the pub! Known as “the most recorded piper in history”, Eric Rigler has been heard by millions of listeners as the featured uillean pipe and low whistle soloist on legendary motion picture soundtracks such as Titanic and Braveheart. Guitarist/Producer Dirk Freymuth has appeared on hundreds of recordings in a wide variety of musical styles. In 2014 the two formed their duo with the goal of performing soundtrack music, Celtic traditional music, and original compositions using looping pedals, effects processors, and other music technology.
