Well there's a first time for everything, and narrowboating was something that Scotty and I were keen to try - but the options were endless. Did you know that there is 7,600km of navigable canals and rivers throughout UK alone???!! We narrowed (pardon-the-pun) our choices down by ticking the following boxes: 1. Relatively accessible (public transport is expensive to get to locations away from metropolitan areas) 2. Recommended companies or good reviews/feedback 3. Price (most expensive isn’t always best) and inclusions, eg, some include fuel and damage cover 4. Good communication, easy to deal with, and helpful for complete novices. We found a small family run business based in Rugby (yup the home of the great game), which ticked all of the above boxes. Willow Wren was great to deal with, and we were introduced to Bryn, our 45-foot home for the week.
