How to Pick Songs for the Ceremony | Perfect Wedding

How to Pick Songs for the Ceremony | Perfect Wedding Watch more How to Plan the Perfect Wedding videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/497054-... My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do and don'ts for the perfect wedding. One of the most difficult parts of doing a wedding is picking the music to use for your ceremony. There are literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of songs that one could pick to walk down the aisle. Most of the songs when you walk down the aisle are not played with words. They're done just the music. So it's important when you pick a song to listen to it without the words or possibly have somebody play it for you. I would meet with the musicians that are doing the ceremony for you to see if they could possibly play over the phone, send you an MPR or meet with you and play the music itself so that you could hear it without the words because many songs which have beautiful words are not really beautiful music. So when looking for wedding music one has to look at the music without the words. Also, brides and grooms often have styles of music that they like very, very much. There's no reason Beatles, Rolling Stones, any of those groups or anything that's out there can't be translated into music that you can walk down the aisle to. It's important to pick a musician with versatility, a musician that can guide you and help you pick a ceremony that represents your feelings about music. Make sure that they are playing it, that they have rehearsed it if it's songs that have never been played before. You need to ask them if they've done it before and if not to make sure they're aware. Have them come half an hour earlier, practice it so that you hear exactly what you expect.
