AJ: What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to check it out this Rhino-Rack roof rack system, ROC 25, on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. This going to be a great solution to carry more of that gear that you can't fit in your car. Let's say you have two seats, two car seats in the back for your kids, not a lot of space for extra stuff. If your trunk is already full, you can install this roof rack system, get a basket. You can put a bike up here. You can get one of those rooftop boxes that has inaudible 00:00:32, that way you can throw all your gear up there, get out of the way and carry more stuff on your way. Let's check it out.I did say naked roof style, and what that means is there's nothing to attach it to on here. So it attaches via these clamps on the side and it's custom made for your vehicle. So the clamps are, and the pads on the bottom are made to fit an indention on your roof. You can see how it fits in there just right. It's made specifically for your vehicle. Now there's not going to be any overhang on these because of the custom fit for it. So you only can work with from here to here on the other side, but it's enough to get a bike rack or a box up there and get you that extra room. We're looking at the bar first. It's a black powder coat, aluminum. So they're lightweight, but they're going to hold up when you add those accessories on there and then add more stuff inside. You can see it's got a t-track down the middle, but you got the weatherstrip that you can add in there, that way the wind doesn't make any noise when you're driving down the road. So you can feel this out. If you want to use the t-track and slide your accessory in this way. If you're going to clamp style accessories then you don't have to worry about it, you can just leave the weatherstrip in and it's out of the way.Coming down here to the foot, it's got a nice cover on there with a lock. That's good so that nobody can tamper with it when you're not around. You can unlock it, slide it right off. This is what the inner workings are. This is the clamp that comes down here. Everything that's touching the roof is also rubber coated. So you don't have to worry about it leaving any marks when you take it off, if you take it off. And the same goes with the clamp, it's got the rubber coating here on the inside, it's not going to bother anything in the door jam area. Now you do get two keys with it and all of the feet are keyed alike. So you don't have to worry about finding the right key that goes to the right foot. They're all the same so you can keep one on your key ring, keep one in the car that you always got them, they're going to work on all these feet. Now the weight capacity on the roof rack is 165 pounds. So just make sure you keep that in mind when you're loading up your accessories and loading your accessories with all the gear you want to take with you, not to exceed that and you won't have any problems. Now we'll get some measurements while I'm talking about that too. We're going to do a crossbar spread, so you can figure that out for your accessories, where the clamps would go or where the t-tracks would go.From middle to middle it looks like it's about 28". So we have that spread from here to here. Another thing to think about is from the roof to the bottom of your bar, how much room you have. You can see we have a sunroof on this Jetta, so you want to be mindful of that. I would suggest probably not using the sunroof when you do have accessories on there, because if you have a clamp that's probably going to get in the way. The clamps can be bulky, and that just doesn't give us a lot of room to come up. I just wouldn't even test it.So we'll get that measurement. Looks like it's a little before 2", so there's not a lot of space there. Now we'll measure from the bottom to the top, and it looks to be about 3", you have 3" of space there. If you are leaving something on top of there, remember when you pull in your garage. I know the Jetta is low to the ground, so you probably shouldn't have to worry about it, but it's always good to know that it's there just in case. You don't want to cause any problems or damage your garage.Next we're going to measure usable space on these crossbars. You heard me mention earlier how there's not much overhang, sometimes the overhang inaudible 00:03:46 bar can still come out to here, you know the foot's there, and that just gives you that extra space to work with. Now this one's custom fit for your roof, so it's not going to have that, but we'll see exactly what you have to work with
