An excerpt from a quarter peal of Grandsire Triples on this bright, punchy, and musical ring of eight at Barkingside, Greater London on Saturday, 27th January 2024 The bells here were cast in a variety of dates by Mears and Stainbank. The front four are all 1932, followed by bells five and six in 1937, and the 7th being 1947 and lastly the tenor in 1954. Forgetting the different dates of casting, the bells here are a true eight bell gem and are not too dissimilar to rings such as Liss, Chiddingford, and St Ives, Cambridgeshire. The bells are very nice to ring and easy to get good ringing on. However it would be better if they weren't so loud! The ringing chamber felt a bit neglected when I came here but that didn't spoil the enjoyment of ringing here!
