TARP AND BIVVY WOODLAND WILD CAMP IN THE RAIN | THETFORD FOREST

I was joined by James, a new subscriber, and Rob, a long time subscriber for this wild camp, as designed by you the viewers! I ran a few surveys recently on what you would like to see on a future video. You wanted to see a tarp and bivvy camp in woodland in Suffolk with an alcohol stove to cook on. And that's what you're getting! We went to Santon Downham in Thetford Forest on the Suffolk/Norfolk border and went for a 5.5 mile walk linking Santon Downham and Brandon via the forest and the Little Ouse River along the St. Edmund Way. We "stumbled" across a couple of pubs (as you do) and couldn't help but sample a few of their tasty beverages, as well as a spot of lunch before leaving Brandon to head back to the start along the river. We then grabbed our wild camping rucksacks and headed off into the woodland and found a secluded spot way off the path just before sunset. The wind died down just after setting up the shelters but was instead replaced by a light and consistent rain which lasted from around 8pm til 12 midnight. I had a couple of bottles of Aspall Suffolk cider and a litre bottle of National Trust fruit cider and 2 US MRE's, a dinner menu and a breakfast menu. We had a great camp despite the weather and slept well, awaking to a lovely sunny morning in the woods. THANKS TO JAMES AND ROB FOR JOINING ME AND TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED IN THE SURVEYS.
