Sauza Tres Generaciones: CENOBIO'S Batch Plata VOL. 01

It's THIRSTY THURSDAY! Hey, thank you for joining us on this episode! We really appreciate the time you take to check out our videos. On this episode we are tasting Tres Generaciones CENOBIO'S Batch Plata VOL. 01. A Blanco Tequila from Sauza. Or is it from Sauza? This is a special limited release from Casa Sauza distillery. The first in a series honoring the three Dons of Casa Sauza and thier trailblazing efforts early on in Sauza's history. From the distillery: "Crafted using traditional processes and tahona-crushed agave, this still-strength Plata tequila is our first in a series of limited-edition releases celebrating the Sauza family legacy. This LTO honors Don Cenobio, one of the “fathers of tequila,” and his unmistakable impact on the tequila industry." Now, with that said, there is some controversy over whether this Tequila was made at the Sauza distillery or another distillery. There are some rumblings that this Tequila was made at the Cascahuin distillery NOM 1123. Lou Agave from Long Island Lou Tequila did a tasting of this Blanco and pointed out some interesting information on the origin of this Tequila. There is a Forbes article that showcases this Tequila and in that article was a picture of the Tahona being used to crush the cooked Agave. The photo used shows a different distillery than Casa Sauza. It clearly is a photograph of the Tahona used at Cascahuin distillery. WHAT?! So supposedly Cascahuin produces this Tequila and then Sauza takes it and bottles it and does all of the packaging for this product. This Tequila has gained a lot of attention because of that fact. It is being sought after to see if the stories are true. Are they? Let's find out together! Also on this episode we have a special guest! Amigo Paul joins us for the first time. I met Amigo Paul at Mexico in a Bottle, a tasting of all the different Mexican spirits, here in Denver. Amigo Paul is a Tequila Aficionado and he has lots of real world experience with Tequila. Did we all like it? Does it taste like the standard Sauza stuff? Is it worth the hype?Watch to find out the answers! T.A. SALUD! Music by: J.C. Henderson Contact: [email protected]
