Les Girafes visit Bradford District, August 2024

On August Bank Holiday 2024, Bradford played host to a magical street performance led by seven towering red giraffes Over a week in August 2024, seven larger-than-life scarlet giraffes travelled all the way from France to surprise groups all across Bradford District, culminating in a spectacular free performance in our city centre. Thousands of people packed the streets of Bradford to witness this unique procession through the city centre streets, before heading in to City Park for the end of the show. Watch the story of how our long-necked friends were joined on their wondrous walkabout by bumbling keepers, performers, musicians – and even an opera singer parading high above the streets. Created by legendary French street theatre company Compagnie OFF, Les Girafes visited as part of our build-up to Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture.
