I like to give you a tour of the local cities and towns around so you can get a feel of what it's like to live here. Like I said, today we are exploring Newnan, Georgia. So let's get into it. What is Newnan Georgia known for? Newnan,, the hometown of Alan Jackson, is known as the City of Homes. There are six national registered historic districts containing some of Georgia's most beautiful homes and commercial buildings located here. Nicknamed the City of Homes, Newnan serves as the countyseat of Coweta County and is part of metro Atlanta. The city boasts its rich history, art and culture in attractions such as the Noonan Square, Browns, Mill, Battlefield, Carl Miller Park, and more. Newnan also provides leisure in entertainment to locals and tourists through parks and entertainment centers including Ashley Park and Chattahoochee Bend State Park. With all of the points of interest accessible in this remarkable city, you'll surely enjoy living here. Now, let's get our tour going. First up, Newnan Square. No visit is complete without a stroll through the historic downtown square. Shop in the same buildings that have stood as the town square since as early as 1868.In the square you will find a variety of historical sites, specialty shops, restaurants and so much more. You must take a stroll through the town to really get a feel of how unique Noonan Square really is. Chattahoochee State Bend Park. Situated on 2910 acres of land, Chattahoochee Bend State Park is one of the state's largest parks. It provides various recreational opportunities for tourists and locals, such as camping, picnicking, hiking and more. If you are looking for a fun yet cheap activity todo, bring the whole family to Chattahoochee Bend State Park and spend a relaxing day or even a night at this park. You and the kids can explore the twelve mile hiking, trail, fishing and have a picnic. Plan a camping trip at the Chattahoochee Bend State Park to have a full on camping experience, visiting this park is easily one of the top things to do in Noonan, Georgia. Carl Miller Park built in the 1990s,Carl Miller is a park that provides fun recreational activities for locals and tourists. It features several playgrounds for younger and older kids, picnic areas, community grills, and more. If you are looking for another free thing to doin Noonan, spend the day outdoors at Carl Miller Park. I am out once again in Newnan ,Georgia at the Carl Miller Park. This is a beautiful park very well kept up, clean bathrooms, which is a plus. It has several playgrounds for kids, bigger kids and smaller kids. They have pavilions if you choose to have a birthday party or a family reunion out here. They also have grills and picnic tables and just showing you I'm walking on the walking path right now. Not sure the distance of the walking path, but it's great for exercising. Brown Mill Battlefield the Brown Mill Battlefield site features various hiking trails. The same trails explore during the war that locals and tourists explore. Hit two birds with 1 st and visit Brown Mill Battle sight, where you can learn more about the Atlanta campaign of the American Civil War while keeping active by hiking. Hike the accessible trails at Brownsville Battlefield sites and stop in front of history's markers to read facts about each spot. It's definitely a must see. Next stop on the list is Ashley Park. Opened in 2006, Ashley Park is a popular hangout spot among locals and tourists in the city. ***
