User Input Routing on the Behringer X32 and Midas M32 - Explained | Soft patch channels anywhere!

User input routing on the Midas M32 and Behringer X32 allows a sound tech to arrange and softpatch mixer channels in any order they would like. This helps to keep workflows normalized and organized. Soundchecks and show mixers can be much more efficient with the sound person is comfortable behind the mixing console and can find the channels where they prefer them to be. With firmware V4 Behringer and Midas added the ability to softpatch any physical channel to any channel on the console. This improved upon the previous limit of being limited to blocks of 8. You no longer have to switch 8 channels to local inputs from AES50 just because you want one local channel. While the process is simple, once you understand it, it's not exactly clear how this process works. This tutorial seeks to explain the process and keep the explanation focused and simple. It also discusses routing as it relates to recording. Either to a DAW via USB or to an installed LIVE card and the associated SD cards.
