Fitting a Zenmuse X5 to a DJI Osmo with a Z-axis stabilizer

The DJI Osmo can be used with the Zenmuse X3 camera or the X5 camera using a DJI adapter. But if you try to use the X5 on the DJI Osmo Z-Axis Adapter it is too heavy and doesn't work. There has been some rumours from DJI that an X5 Z-axis is going to be available, but I don't really want to have to buy more adapters. This video shows a simple, cheap and reversible way to modify the DJI Osmo Z-Axis Adapter to work with the X5 camera which means you can easily swap between cameras while still using the Z-Axis. You need the following additional components: 100mm RC car oil filled adjustable shock absorber e.g.http://www.banggood.com/HSP-RC-110-4W... 2 x M3x20mm cap head screws 1 x M3x10mm cap head screw 5 x M3 nuts 15mm 3D printed extension piece or similar. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1908715 One thing I missed on the video was an M3 nut I pushed into the bottom shock absorber hole that allows the 3d printed extension to be screwed in tightly with the M3x10mm cap head screw. You'll also need the expensive bits: DJI Osmo: http://store.dji.com/product/osmo DJI X5 Osmo adapter: http://store.dji.com/product/osmo-x5-... DJI Z-Axis: http://store.dji.com/product/osmo-z-axis I'm not sure how this mod affects your DJI warranty, but it's a benign modification and totally reversible. However, it's all at your own risk! These are now available ready built https://www.xcopters.co.uk/shop/dji-o...
