Cradlepoint Launches NetCloud SASE to Serve and Secure Agile Enterprises | SecurityANGLE

In this episode of the SecurityANGLE, Shelly Kramer, managing director and principal analyst at theCUBE Research, is joined by Camille Campbell, director of product marketing for wireless WAN and security at Cradlepoint. The conversation centered on the importance of secure connectivity in 5G environments and the challenges of providing agile and persistent cellular connectivity while ensuring network security. Check out the latest from theCUBE, including upcoming tech events https://www.thecube.net/ The discussion also set the stage for the announcement of Cradlepoint's big news: the launch of NetCloud SASE, its single-vendor Secure Access Secure Edge solution designed to serve and secure agile enterprises by integrating cellular-centric SD-WAN and security into a fully unified solution. The cloud-delivered platform enables lean IT teams to provision true zero-trust networks in as little as six minutes. Follow theCUBE's wall-to-wall coverage as the roving news desk for SiliconANGLE reports live from tech's top events https://siliconangle.com/category/cub... Why is this important? We are seeing a very real demand in the market today for simplified security measures in a dynamic and mobile environment, as well as demand for cellular and satellite backup in mission-critical scenarios. And as is the case when it comes to meeting customer demand on these fronts, there are always some very real challenges when it comes to securing and managing cellular and IoT connections in a hybrid WAN environment, emphasizing the need for simplicity, robust security and unified policies. Enterprises are also focused on protecting web browsing for enterprise remote workers, which highlights the need for a unified policy management system that can apply malware prevention and reverse browser isolation. This conversation with Camille focused on the importance of secure connectivity in 5G environments and the challenges of providing agile and persistent cellular connectivity while ensuring network security. The major touchpoints included: • A brief overview of Cradlepoint and its solution offerings. • Security Access Service Edge, or SASE, is a cloud architecture model that combines network and security as-a-service functions and delivers it as a cloud service. Cradlepoint is one of several networking and security vendors with SASE offerings, so we explored what Cradlepoint views as its key differentiators. • An overview of cellular optimization and why it’s so important today. Cradlepoint’s 5G focus is on transitioning from non-standlaone to standalone networks and how that will help unlock advanced functionality. • Key differentiators in Cradlepoint’s micro channel architecture include its elimination of double encryption challenges, reduction of bandwidth usage and improvement of performance. • The value of an integrated management platform for wireless LAN, network and security, and the multiple use cases it supports. • A discussion about why the rise in interest in ZTNA solutions for remote monitoring and maintenance and how this impacts and assists first responders and others. • 5G is expected to bring an influx of IoT devices into corporate networks (thus the increased interest in SASE). We discussed why this is happening and how networking IT teams can prepare for this. • Simplification, in general, is a major goal today for vendors and end-use customers. Moreover, simpifying cybersecurity for remote workers and enterprises, including policy enforcement, malware protection and isolation is an increasingly important area of concern. Camille shared insights on how Cradlepoint solves for this and provided feedback from customers. With the market for 5G and 4G/LTE Enterprise Wireless WAN expected to reach $5.5 billion in revenue by 2027, which more closely connect customers to services, more connected devices mean a larger and more dangerous attack surface. This is why the NetCloud SASE solution is timely. Simple, scalable and specialized SASE solutions that can serve remote employees in dynamic environments, roaming vehicles, emergency first responders, paired with the rapid growth of IoT connected devices needs enhanced network security. A SASE solution that integrates cellular, SD-WAN and security all in one unified platform is incredibly attractive. Read the full article https://thecuberesearch.com/cradlepoi...
