When his plan fails, a surprise anchor results in Oscar taking credit for the death of shark mob boss Don Lino's son Frankie. Calling himself, the "Sharkslayer," Oscar bluffs his way into fame and fortune and now has to navigate his new life, dealing with Sykes, Don Lino, his new friendship with Lino's other son, Lenny, who happens to be a vegetarian, and relationship with a lion fish named Lola.
