If there is anything else you would like to see, then please drop a comment and let us know. We want this video series to be a great tool for the Dell community. Ask questions. Answer questions. Help each other out. In this video, we will show the different style of chassis. There really are not a lot of options, but it is important to know the differences. Let's start with the drive bays. There are 3 chassis styles for drive bay. 8 Bay SFF, 10 Bay SFF and 24 Bay 1.8". 8 Bay is the most common. 10 Bay is a bit more expensive and has an upgrade kit to convert 4 backplane slots to accept NVMe U.2 drives. And then there is the unicorn 24 Bay 1.8", which is very uncommon. We've built thousands of R630s and never seen this one. The next difference is only for the R630 8 Bay SFF. There is an option for 2 PCIe or 3 PCIe slots . This is a key difference and should always be looked at when ordering 8 Bay servers to ensure you get correct chassis style. All the 10 Bay chassis have 3 PCIe slot. We will show the 8 Bay vs 10 Bay and 2 PCIe vs 3 PCIe in our video. Click that like! Do you want to buy a refurbished Dell PowerEdge R630 server?
