MV. TAIMAREHO Song by 2019 CULTURE Written by Hon. JM (Now former) Here are some footage and pictures of the launching of MV. TAIMAREHO 1 at Harumou. The event was attended by many people throughout WAC and elsewhere. The display of Are’Are culture and maasinahood through the joyfulness of an appreciative people of WAC was second to none. It was colourful, very significant, very special and a very unique event in the history of WAC and A'A that many will treasure for many years to come. There were lots of pictures and footage of activities captured by many people. Hopefully the images presented in the song will give you a little sense of what transpired and occurred during the days of 30th Nov to 2nd Dec 2018. Thank you all for a very special and colourful event. There are many to thank here, especially our former MP of WAC, John Maneniaru who was accorded the floating “perapera” which was a mark of recognition and acknowledgement preserved only for a chosen few in the history of A’A. It was great to see one of our former MP, our very own Chief A. Hairiu who was a true master of ceremony. Thanks mama’a for an outstanding display. Thanks to all our chiefs, elders, religious leaders, men and women, youths, children and all people of all works of life that made it a very special and joyous event. Not forgetting the entertainers, a very big thanks to the pan-pipers, Warato'o and Wasi Ka Nanara, the drum beaters and many others who have entertained all in one way or another. A big thank you to all the entertainers and especially to wari Luke, Alex and John for the music. A band to watch, 2019 CULTURE Also big thanks to all the talents that performed during evenings filled with joyfulness and entertainment. We even had our very own globe trotting international musician, Charles Maimarosia entertaining as well. It was a sight to behold as our people descended into Harumou from various corners and hamlets of WAC. Are'Are culture was full on display. From the floating “perapera” with the traditional pan-pipers with our women performing the traditional dance with the rhythmic beating of the "ha'u" and ending with a combined distinct shouts of excitements, the drum beaters, poiana tori’a for groups throughout WAC all the way to dancing and celebrations of a fine achievement, this was no ordinary celebration but one that has everything all rolled into one. Thank you everyone that attended. Thank you our people of Tai and our host, the people of Mareho. Thank you Harumou. Thank you Uhu. God bless WAC. God bless A'A. Raemanoha!
