I Can See Clearly Now - Metropole Orkest conducted by Maurice Luttikhuis (2011) Soloist: Lee Towers-voc Lee Towers (b. 1946) is THE crooner of The Netherlands, who does not hide his admiration for his idol Frank Sinatra. Lee's first hit single "You'll never walk alone" (released as You Never Walk Alone), became his greatest and best-selliing hit which stood in the top-10 for weeks. In 1980 Towers appeared for his first big one-man-show performance in De Doelen, Rotterdam's largest concert hall, followed a year later by a sold-out performance in the close to 2000-seat Carré in Amsterdam. In 1984 he sold out the Rotterdam AHOY Exhibition Center (nowadays the location of the North Sea Jazz Festival) twice. Towers is immensely popular and an ardent supporter of the Feyenoord soccer team, where he always opens the first home match of the season with You Never Walk Alone. In 2017 he was awarded the Edison Oeuvre Prize. Apart from You Never Walk Alone, Lee scored hits with Bad Bad Leroy Brown and New York New York, once again showing his admiration for Frank Sinatra. .
