Kedartal or Shiva's lake trek from Gangotri is high altitude glacier trek in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Kedartal is one of the highest lake trek in Uttarakhand which is located at an altitude of 15,500 feet. Kedartal trek takes 4 days to complete from Gangotri, which turned out to be the one of the most difficult trek I ever done. I did the is trek with a trekking agency 'Soul Seeker' which is owned by Mr Sourav Panwar. I had already done 3 treks with Sourav's team & Kedartal was the 4th trek. You can reach to Mr Sourav at : +91 7302776862 I reached Gangotri for Kedartal trek but couldn't start the trek for next three days as it rained heavily in Gangotri region. 4th we started our trek. First day of trek we reached a place called Bhoj Kharak where we spent out night in tents. Next day we reached 'Kedar Kharak'. In Kedartal trek, trekkers spend their 2nd night here and then go to Kedartal next day. But we already reached Kedar Kharak by 10 AM & had entire day so we went to Kedartal the same day. Kedartal is very popular among trekking enthusiasts but this is a difficult trek. Steep ascents, various landslide zones, low oxygen area & unpredictable weather makes it difficult trek. But the views & divine beauty of this place can be very rewarding at the end.
