The Sangean SR-35 AM FM portable radio is one of the best, low cost, DSP analog dial based receivers you can buy. Used to it's full potential I am finally warming up to it. Though I'm a bit bummed not being able to DX on the MW band with any type of enjoyment. There are no additional costs to you. Features I like about this radio: Above average FM reception. AM selectivity is good. Speaker audio is pleasing on FM and while listen to voice/sports broadcasts on the AM dial. Headphone jack. Easy to read dial. Accurate dial. Tuning LED indicator. Hinged battery compartment. AA operation. Strong build quality. Antenna stows away flush with the radio's cabinet. Features that could be added or improved on: Eliminate the popping sound on the MW band. (Disabling the Tuning LED did not solve this problem) A power LED indicator. FM Stereo on headphones. Overall, I recommend this radio as a solid choice for FM listening and decent AM listening when the stations are local or semi local. The build quality is great and the speaker's audio is one of the best on the market. The Sony P26 still wins by a small margin, because it doesn't have the AM band popping issue. If this is fixed on the SR-35, then I will crown a new champion.
