In 2014 leaked emails revealed that actor Channing Tatum wanted to play Venom, and had emailed a producer saying he had a "really sick idea" for the movie as well. Not much was said about the plot, but I assume it would be apart of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, since the symbiote was teased in an alternate trailer of the second film. For this film to make sense, the plot would definitely have some elements from Ultimate Marvel’s Venom, and that includes Peter and Eddie had been childhood friends, and the symbiote being a genetically created suit for diseases their fathers made... To give it a twist, Eddie has cancer and discusses The Suit with Peter. Oscorp had took ownership of The Venom Suit, and both suggest getting it back to help cure his cancer, but Peter suits up as Spider-Man and goes without him. Spider-Man sneaks into Oscorp and comes upon The Venom Suit to take back but slips and breaks, oozing all over him. After have fun with the suit seeing what abilities it has, he notices it’s slowly consuming him, he rips it off and disposes it. Coincidentally, Eddie was near and the Venom suit latches on to him, transforming him into Venom. Eddie immediately finds out the truth through the symbiote suit due to its artificial intelligence it gained from bonding with Peter, leaving Eddie with full hatred towards his own childhood friend Peter.
