These are the figures from the General Administration of Customs of China which notes that “Chinese imports of bauxite in October increased by 24.71% year-on-year or 11,127,256.51 tonnes, which represents a monthly increase of 11 .04%.” Guinea remains the largest supplier to China which imported 7,084,009.08 tonnes of bauxite from Guinea in October, marking a monthly increase of 4.66% and an annual increase of 62.23% compared to 2022. With an average price of 70 US dollars per tonne, the value of Chinese imports of Guinean bauxite would therefore be 490 million dollars. SMB, Hainan, CBG, AGB2A SDM, GAC, Chalco etc… are the main producers and exporters of Guinean bauxite.
