True Inspiration: Classical Magnet's Xavier Encarnacion

While living in New York, Xavier Encarnacion was severely bullied from first through 5th grade. The stress from the bullying led to a diagnosis of Rumination Syndrome. Xavier would repeatedly regurgitate his food, and without proper nutrition his body would be become so weakened he could not walk on his own. Upon moving to Connecticut, Xavier would work diligently to treat his condition and improve his health. He would join the Classical Magnet School cross country and track teams. In the spring of 2024 he was awarded the school's Robert H. Barley Veritas Core Value Award.
