We have a guest-tutorial today! Welcome, Heidi, and thank you for sharing your very detailed and helpful video so others can learn about this delicate procedure (as well as enjoy your lovely accent!) *** Did your machine just start sewing all of the sudden without the foot controller being depressed at all? Well, the common cause are capacitors! You may find a capacitor under and inside the machine, or perhaps there are a couple inside the foot controller or there could even be a couple inside the motor. In this tutorial, Heidi will show you where and how to locate the capacitor(s) in the motor specifically, as well as how to remove them. She gives excellent instruction, so grab some gloves, q-tips, roll up your sleeves and let’s get started! (Capacitors were only issued with Featherweights that were manufactured in the UK, so if you have a US-made Featherweight, you will not need to worry about removing them.) If your capacitors are located in the machine or foot controller, follow this link for helpful step-by-step photo instructions on how to easily remove them: https://singer-featherweight.com/blog...
