The definitions given were reversed… and contrary to what I selected, we are best off choosing "Optimum" simplification. And when that is done (13:19), I just pressed Close and skipped over an important final step to carry out the "Optimization." That is the button on the right. In most cases these are relatively small differences in route and route time, but to get the best product we should: do the routing, then Simplify choosing Optimum, and when that is done we should run "Optimize." This last step is adding sophisticated fine tuning to the route that improves over a pure isochronal solution.
