Former Stevie Wright (Easybeats), Jim Keays (Masters’ Apprentices), Swanee and Band of Friends (Rory Gallagher’s band) guitarist/vocalist Gwyn Ashton has teamed up with Czech violinist Jitka Vejsadová to form a powerful and dynamic duo, with Vejsadová adding her country, celtic and bluegrass roots to Ashton’s swamp rock blues style. The duo’s debut performance was at Prague’s prestigious Divadlo Archa in November 2023. In 2024 the duo smashed stages at venues and festivals through Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Croatia and are now coming to kick out the jams in Australia in 2025! In pre-production for a recorded release, these two musicians have joined forces and fill the stage with music and instruments incorporating guitars, violin, bass, and foot drums with electronic effects to produce a full band sound, or as an acoustic duo for smaller venues and are now available for bookings. Ashton has released 10 albums and is well-known in the blues-rock world as a touring, recording artist and record producer, collaborating with members of Guns N Roses, Whitesnake, Icehouse, Cold Chisel, The Angels and Robert Plant’s band. He has toured Europe for over 20 years with artists such as BB KIng, Buddy Guy, Mick Taylor, Peter Green, Johnny Winter, The Yardbirds, Canned Heat, Robben Ford, Status Quo, Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Tony Joe White, Magnum, John Wetton, Junior Wells, Wishbone Ash, Vanilla Fudge and many others. In 1999 he replaced Motörhead/Thin Lizzy guitarist Brian Robertson and John Mayer/Paul McCartney guitarist Robbie MacIntosh in Band of Friends. This lineup recorded the album Fang It! , released through Virgin Records.
