Beheaded… Okay… now the one song I was dreading. I don’t in any way hate this song, I do think it’s good, but the subject matter made me kinda dread getting to this song, and I frankly considered skipping it… 😅 Poor K. Howard, honestly. Having to deal with being objectified and used by men much older than her… Henry Mannox could’ve actually been 36, not 23, so that makes his involvement with the (at the time) 13 year old Katherine Howard even more creepy… 😰 And don’t forget Henry VIII was likely in his late 40s/early 50s when Howard was around 17… 😰 Yeah… need I say more? Katherine Howard had it the worst overall. Here’s my take for “Which wife had it the worst?”: if we’re taking about the worst from JUST HENRY VIII, then Catherine of Aragon, but of we’re talking about worst OVERALL, then Katherine Howard. But yeah, now “I Don’t Need Your Love”, my overall third favorite song in the musical, is next.
