Ola Electric Faces Backlash | 80K Complaints a Month From Users |

If you've been considering buying an Ola Electric scooter, here's what you need to know. Ola Electric, a leader in India's e-scooter market, has recently faced thousands of customer complaints about their scooters and after-sales service. In fact, the company is receiving nearly 80,000 complaints every month. On some days, that number surges to around 6,000 to 7,000, leaving service centers overwhelmed and customers waiting far too long for repairs. Now, this frustration is boiling over. Just recently, a man in Karnataka was arrested for allegedly setting fire to an Ola showroom after receiving poor service for his scooter. Imagine buying a new e-scooter and just 20 days later, it's giving you issues! This man, who had repeatedly gone to the service center to fix his vehicle, lost his patience after being met with unsatisfactory responses. He reportedly set six scooters ablaze, causing Rs 850,000 worth of damage. And he's not alone in his frustration. A Bengaluru woman took a more peaceful route by plastering a placard on her Ola scooter, warning fellow potential buyers. Her message was clear and I quote: "Ola is a useless two-wheeler. It will only make your life harder." This post, shared on X, quickly garnered a lot of attention from other Ola electric users, as they joined in using the hashtag #DontBuyOla to voice their dissatisfaction. In response to this rising tide of complaints, Ola Electric has put together a new service team, drawing talent from different parts of the company. However, it’s clear the problems are affecting the company's reputation and bottom line. In August, Ola Electric reported its worst monthly sales of the year, with a 34% drop from July. This has also chipped away at its market share, which fell from 39% to 31%. While Ola Electric has condemned the showroom fire incident and promises to take legal action, they haven’t addressed the deeper issues surrounding product quality and service. So, if you’re thinking of buying an Ola scooter, it might be worth keeping an eye on how the company handles these challenges in the coming months. Will they fix their service issues and regain customer trust? Only time will tell. ..............................................................................................
