Not long after, their fellow operative Russell Adler (Bruce Thomas) is framed as one of Menendez's moles in the agency, and is forced to go rogue. In 1991, amidst the outbreak of the Gulf War, Adler re-emerges by sending a cryptic message to Woods, warning him of the existence of a clandestine force called "Pantheon", which has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA and branded anyone who resists them as traitors to the United States.
