Almost all know who the Buddha was but very few know what Buddha’s teachings are all about and what it means to be a true follower of Buddhism. In this video we are introducing you to one of the greatest holy monks ever born and how he could practice in real life the Buddha’s highest order kshanti Paramita Sutra that means higher level of positivity, tolerance and forgiveness. Let’s come to this highly motivational and inspirational story right away which has the power to change our total attitude to life and this world. Purna Kashyap, Lord Buddha's disciple, was one of the greatest Buddhist monks and scholars. Knowing his desire, Buddha said one day, "Bhante, now you have achieved the supreme knowledge and are in complete control of your emotions and sense organs. Go, preach everywhere and help spread Buddhism.” Purna Kashyap said "Lord, if you hinted where I should go, I would feel easier." Buddha said lovingly, "You are yourself a master of rare knowledge and wisdom. You can decide that for yourself." Purna Kashyap, naming a particular tribal settlement in Bihar, requested the Buddha for permission to go there first. Buddha said, "Why that place above all? That’s not quite a place for you. People are a cunning lot there. They can harm you. So, first consider well and then go if you must. Purna Kashyap didn’t look in any way doubtful or afraid even after hearing so. And then Buddha added, "I don’t intend to question your wisdom. If you are firm in your decision, I will not stop you. But before I give my approval, I would certainly like to know what you have to say about my doubts. The first question is, they can abuse and insult you. How will you feel then?" Purna Kashyap made a quick reply, "God, it’s all the same to me. I'll take it easy and console myself with the thought that they could have beaten me but didn't." Buddha smiled and added: "That’s very good. But suppose, they not only insulted you but turned to beating you black and blue, what would you do?" Purna Kashyap again replied politely, "Lord, that is not a big thing, either. You needn’t worry on that score. I would only think that they were kind enough. They could have killed me, but didn’t and let me go free." Buddha: "You may be right again about that, but still I am not fully convinced. And if, by any chance, they turned to killing you, how would you react?" Purna Kashyap said confidently, “That would be in my favor again, my Lord. If I lived long, I could commit many sins and evils and by way of killing they would just be saving me from all likely sins. More importantly if they killed me, they would only be liberating me from this impermanent world and this life.” Hearing this, the Buddha smiled and said happily, "Bante, go. You have my full permission. Now I am sure, there is no one anywhere in this world who can harm you. God willing, everything will be fine ! You are simply unbeatable and immortal.” Friends, Positivity can definitely change the world and make a big difference in our lives. It changes your bitter enemies at once into best friends. So, mind it - happiness in life comes not by chance but by choice of your own.
