Basically, a Limit Order enables you to sell or buy a stock at a specific price. A buy Limit Order executes at or below the specified price, whereas a sell Limit Order executes at or above the specified price. It is important to remember that when placing a Limit Order there is no certainty that the order will in fact be executed. While you can control how the price moves in your favour, there's no assurance that you'll be able to get the quantity of stock you want. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to place a Limit Order on Dhan Web? Step 1: Open your Dhan Web and from your dashboard go to the watchlist. From your watchlist, choose the stock you want to trade. You may also use the search bar to look up the stock or check your portfolio for the same. Step 2: Take a buy/sell position on the stock by clicking on it. You can also invest in the stock using one of the options listed above. The procedure will remain the same! Now select the number of stocks you want to buy and set the price limit to buy the stocks at your desired price. Make sure your order type is set as 'Limit' since this will allow you to choose the price. Step 3: Finally, based on your position, press the buy/sell button, and you're done! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to place Limit Order on Dhan Trading App? Step 1: Login to your Dhan App and tap on the watchlist tab to trade in your desired security. You can also search for it using the search bar. Step 2: Tap on the stock and take a buy or a sell position. Select the order type as 'Limit' and then enter the quantity of the stocks that you want to buy here. Step 3: Enter your desired price here and tap on the buy or sell button based on your position! Limit order are used by "passive market participants". In this you wait until the price comes to you, to a trading level where you are willing to Buy/Sell. Step 1: Go to setting option on the chart, then click on trading and then tick the instant order placement. Step 2: Enter the quantity you want to trade on the top left side of chart between red and blue box, click on the price at the chart you want to trade, then choose whether buy at limit or sell at limit and your limit order will be placed.
