Bringing about many technical innovations at the time, the car was completely designed from the bottom up to reward the driver with handling, precision, power, and braking while delivering comfort and a smooth ride on the street. Innovations that came out during the MidYear era were independent suspension, a ladder-type frame, wind tunnel testing, 4-wheel disc brakes, and more. All in all, these were the right car, at the right time, built by the right people. I believe they are the most interesting Corvette ever made, the most beautiful, and in many ways the most important. This was the car that sealed the Corvette in to American culture permanently.
