Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dog - Rotational Grazing Sheep. Its time to rotate our sheep as part of our rotational grazing program! Tonight we are mowing for some temporary fencing so we can set up a new paddock for our dorper sheep to graze on. We are also moving Angel, our great pyrenees livestock guardian dog, LGD for short, along with the sheep. Every few days we move the sheep onto a fresh patch of grass where they can forage for a natural, grass based diet. Each time they move, our livestock guard dog goes with them. The sheep are contained using Premiere 1 Sheep and Goat netting which is a temporary electric fence that provides protection and keeps them in the area we want them to graze on. We energize the fence using a solar fence energizer which is very effective. Check out how we move sheep, care for and train our LGD and manage the grass on our farm.
