Whether you’re a mom, you have a mom or you lost your mom… I hope you can relate to this song and it makes you feel something. This song is from my debut EP "How 'Bout We Find Out". My step dad got diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2021 and survived 8 months of chemo therapy. During this very sad time of my life, I remember pulling over and calling my mom one day. I was going on and on about something and getting emotional. I remember stopping myself mid sentence and apologizing because I hadn’t asked how she was doing or how he was doing. She responded with “Oh, no baby don’t you worry about things here. I’m here for him and I’m here for you. That’s what mommas are for” When she said that line, I KNEW I had to write that song for her. Unfortunately, we lost my step dad to cancer later on in 2021 and I gifted my mom with this song. Somehow, I feel like my wonderful stepfather still lives through this song.
