Synovial sarcomas are malignant soft tissue tumors that most often arise in the extremities of young adults. Despite the name, they are NOT related to synovium nor do they arise from synovial cells. This video discusses the pathologic features of monophasic and biphasic synovial sarcoma including immunostains, molecular testing, the major differential diagnoses, and potential diagnostic pitfalls.
