Plantation Drive in honor of PM Narendra Damodardas Modi's 72nd Birthday || IMU KOLKATA CAMPUS ||

In recent years, India has gone through a rapid period of economic growth. Unfortunately, the country’s environmental conditions have suffered greatly due to this growth. One of the most significant issues is deforestation. By keeping the vigilance on the concerns, Prime minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation several times which helped to transform the motive of reforestation in people's movement. By taking inspiration from the same, the director of Indian Maritime University Kolkata Campus, Shri Eswara Arun Kishore took the initiative to plant wood apple trees on 17th Sep 2022, to mark the 72nd birthday of our honourable prime minister of India, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi which aimed to raise awareness for the importance of planting trees which encouraged the cadets on how plants are the key to healthy environment. This event took place in the college premises and the director was accompanied by our esteemed faculty members and cadets.
