A Short Story of Pakistan | 14 August 22 | ISPR

The struggle for Pakistan did not start after the creation of the Muslim League in 1906 but it began when the East India Company humiliated and dethroned the last Mughal emperor: Bahadur Shah Zafar. Shan Shahid takes us back to the riots of 1857 and narrates the events where Muslims were subjugated, betrayed, and killed. It was then that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan started the journey of awakening the Muslim populace about their true potential and right to self-determination. The same spirit and determination were maintained when Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah presented the course of establishing a separate homeland for the Muslims of British India in the resolution of 1940. The story of 90 years of Muslims’ struggle is a story of grit the great leaders had, enthusiastic grassroots activism, and agonizing sacrifices of the Muslims of the sub-continent. Despite all the odds, the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947, symbolizes honour, valour, and the resolve of its people. It was in August 2020 that a SEVEN episodes’ version was launched by ISPR.
