Killing Floor 2: Hell on Earth Hellmark Station Solo Commando w/Patriarch

Hello again everyone! I'm back and I return right where I left off a year ago. In this video, I took the liberty to add an intro into the video to capture the scope and magnitude of the map and it's detail. I play Commando using the Minigun that was added last year on the map Hellmark Station it was presented on. Needless to say, this run was quite difficult to accomplish. Largely due to the poorly optimized map layout and Minigun at my disposal. Despite the setbacks and a year of waiting I was able to pull through. The Minigun: The Minigun itself is an odd weapon to choose from. It fills a niche roll for commando sacrificing your utility over small bursts of DPS and efficient trash control. As strong as it may be in some areas, it severely punishes you for using it. It's long reload, barrel wind up speed, shooting and aiming penalties greatly hinder the weapons performance. However, given the right holdout spot, proper use of positioning, good use of zed tactics and some buffs in right areas, it can potentially keep pace other respected commando loadouts. Hellmark Station: I used the mod Controlled Difficulty on Hellmark Station. I felt the original map was too slow for gameplay and wouldn't be entertaining to watch. I set the boss as Patriarch to fit the map setting and I ramped up the zed spawning to 0, added more zeds and 1 faked player to add tension to the run. Sabre Interactive did a phenomenal job detailing the map to perfection. They introduced Hellish Rage that significantly buffs your damage with the cost of being able to heal momentarily. It remains as my favorite map in terms of detail for it's mere atmosphere alone. However, Hellmark Station is one of the most chaotic maps I've played. Despite it's looks, it plays awful. It suffers from poor movement optimization. The map has tons of clutter that can block you from escaping. Zed spawning was poorly optimized giving you no breathing room with dead ends in the map that can be heavily misleading if not careful. Overall, the map is quite frustrating in the worst circumstances but it's exquisite detail, unique environment and the addition of the Hellish Rage buff can outweigh most of it's draw backs. Most of the map's hindrances I've discussed are fixed in the Redux version created by Tamari. Which features reduced clutter, optimized spawns, tons of movement optimizations and new routes to kite in and a whole lot more. I recommend anyone play the Redux over the original any day.
